Digital | DROTTNINGHOLM

Assemblage Studio went on-site to begin the process of digitally recreating Drottningholm Palace Theatre, one of the world’s most remarkable and best-preserved 18th-century theaters. Built in the 1760s, this historic treasure was captured in meticulous detail, from the grand exterior to the intricate craftsmanship inside. Our goal was to ensure this cultural masterpiece can be shared with audiences worldwide, preserving its legacy for future generations.

PROCESS

During the pandemic lockdown, we developed a process to capture the Drottningholm Palace Theatre and its stunning artwork and stage designs. Over weeks of shooting, we set up cameras throughout the theater, coordinating remotely with teams in Stockholm, Prague, and New York. Together, we shared massive files across continents, ensuring that every detail was documented. This collaborative effort allowed us to digitally preserve the theater’s full essence.

DETAILS

We captured the Drottningholm Palace Theatre in stunning ultra-high resolution, preserving every intricate detail of its historic interior. From the painted marbling and papier-mâché consoles to the intricate ropes, pulleys, and stage machinery, every aspect was meticulously documented. The result? Files so massive they can be projected at twice the theater’s actual size or printed to be recreated on-site, just as if you were standing inside its walls.
